Privacy Policy

Memoriiz lets parents and loved ones create memory capsules for their children. Your memories are personal: we host them in Europe, encrypted, and we never sell them.

2. Data we collect

We only collect the data needed for the app to work:

User account: email address, first name or nickname, preferred language
Child profile: first name, date of birth (to calculate the unlock age), avatar emoji
Capsule content: texts, photos, videos and voice recordings you choose to add
Notification token: a technical identifier used to send push notifications

3. How we use your data

Your data is used only to:

Authenticate your account and secure your access
Store and display your memory capsules
Send unlock notifications at the right moment
Let you invite loved ones to contribute
Send you account emails (confirmation, password reset, data export) in your language

We never sell, rent or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.

4. Hosting and security

All your data is hosted securely in Europe, in a data center located in Frankfurt (Germany), on the Supabase cloud infrastructure (built on Amazon Web Services).

Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
Strict per-user isolation (Row Level Security): each person can only access their own accounts, capsules and media. No one else can view them.
Media (photos, videos, voice recordings) are stored on Supabase Storage, in the same European region, with secure access.

In short: your memories stay in Europe, encrypted, accessible only to you — and are never resold.

5. Data retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app under My profile → Delete my account. This permanently deletes all your data and capsules.

5a. Getting your data back (export)

You can retrieve all your data at any time — the texts, photos, videos and voice recordings in your capsules — directly from the app, under My profile → Export my data.

How it works: on request, Memoriiz emails you the details of your capsules along with secure download links for your media, valid for 30 days.

If you plan to leave Memoriiz or not renew your subscription, we recommend exporting your data before your subscription period ends. Not renewing does not immediately delete your data; you keep read access to your existing capsules.

After an account is deleted (or once export links expire, after 30 days), media are deleted from our servers. Metadata (titles, dates) may be kept for up to 6 months for support purposes, then permanently erased.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

Right of access: access the data about you
Right to rectification: correct inaccurate data
Right to erasure: delete your account and all your data
Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured format
Right to object: object to certain processing

7. Push notifications

The app may send push notifications to let you know a capsule has unlocked or a birthday is coming up. You can turn these notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.

8. Cookies and trackers

The Memoriiz mobile app does not use cookies. No browsing data is collected for advertising or analytics purposes.

9. Changes

We may update this privacy policy at any time. If we make a significant change, we will let you know through a notification in the app.
